OyeE...Itz Friday. -a fruit punch

According to me it’s a successful concept by our C&DS folks; new people with new blood. Oye…Itz Friday is a weekly newsletter exclusively for the C&DS team by the C&DS team to the C&DS team. The formula behind the success which I believe is the right synchronization of the duo “Sandhya & Bala” – the two passionate persons. One is a creative writer and another one is a creative designer who gives trendy designs, which is like fruit punch in a stylish glass bottle with nice label.

As a creativity-admirer, I've always appreciated the works of these two buddies. There is nothing much to talk about the designer Bala, because he is one of my kind of persons who likes designs and likes to design. An exceptional designer, that is for granted. He has all the qualities of which a typical graphic designer has. At the very beginning days when I met him I did not believe when he said he is good at typography. But later I have realised that he really is. He is a very open-minded person. Bad thing is he is too open-minded(Bala: if you are reading it dont mind, just kidding). I wish him a very bright future.

Ok, let’s talk about the creative writer Sandhya. Whenever I see headings of newspaper, magazines, punch lines of any brands, slogans, tag lines, creative copy of advertisements, I think about the persons who craft sentences creatively, beautifully with interesting words and make the targets audience read them. I am happy to see such a person in our team. Frankly speaking, I am one of the fans of her write-ups b'coz of the "oye friday" and her posts in the blog www.anemotionalentourage.blogspot.com/ . One best thing is, despite of her regular assignments on technical writing, she is working hard to show off her creative skills in writing, which is one of the "22 irrefutable laws of advertising". I wish all the best in her exciting career.

Being a passed-out student of multimedia, I have seen many creative people in the areas of designing, artists, 3Ds Max, Maya, writers, animators, programmers etc. The above stated people are one among them, who just live for their passion and I really like their attitude. B'coz I know the hard days and struggles I've gone through and have been going through to become a "passionate designer" and I have seen the struggles of my friends and colleagues. I am not saying I am a "very good designer", but am confident that one day I will become a "very good designer". And pray God to make me much more passionate.

Apart from designing I love copywriting. I am not very good at English; in fact I am very poor at that. But still with whatever knowledge I have I try to write something. One of the books which I like is "Ogilvy on advertising", which inspired me a lot. David Ogilvy has often been called “The Father of Advertising”. He started his career as a copywriter. I like that guy and his thoughts are great.

One more reason for the success of "oye friday" is, the number of team i.e. two. “She writes and he designs” decision making involves only in the hands of the two persons. She never interferes in his designing and he never interferes in her writing. No need of approvals, they take self decisions. If they feel good, they keep the news element, if not they will remove. One thing is sure that, since this concept is their brain child, they both give their one hundred and twenty percent efforts to it. I am one of the most enjoying persons to see this news letter and I’m lovin it.

And now something about an interesting person. He is none other than Mr. Phani, one of the persons whom I like most in whole C&DS (who also likes the above said duo). He is a very cool guy unlike me. He thinks a lot and a very matured person (again unlike me). He is a coneptual designer, canvas artist, good writer, very social person, very talkative, got lots of sense of humor, good painter, out-standing designer, and what not, he is everything. A multi-talented and a versatile person of our team. He is one of the heartful and closest persons among my friends. He is so close because, we both joined C&DS team together as designers and we've been working together over two and a half years. Many a times I feel so unlucky for not being studied with this guy and for not being a BFA. Once in a conversation he talked about "Life minus 5" (If you want to know what life minus 5 is, check with him). And by the way our Phani was so much impressed on the copywriter of oye...friday and started re-writing Ramayana, with her name as the starting word. Hmm...Phani, keep it up my friend. Did you complete writing it?

And by the way the important reason which made me to write about the Oye..Friday is, this time I was there in the mailer!!!. As a part of weekly news, she picks one person per a week saying "spotted" and writes few interesting and good things about that "spotted person". This week I felt so happy and lucky for being spotted and moreover there was a poem on me!. :) Oh my God! I was so thrilled.
